Party Make-Up For All Hollow Magazine Launch

A couple of days ago, something wonderful happened: a new project has come to life, a breath of fresh air for many people in the creative industries. It bears the name All Hollow and it is a quarterly magazine (meaning it comes out every 3 months). First, it was a blog, a very popular blog. Now, it has found its way on newsstands, among fashion magazines but not quite there because it’s so much more. One could call it a hybrid, a meeting place for photographers, writers, models, actors, musicians, fashion stylists, make-up artists, hair stylists and illustrators. Do check it out on Facebook, follow the blog as it is still being updated religiously but DEFINITELY buy the magazine – it will open your mind ;)

The launch party was a series of concerts (I especially loved Aylin Cadar&the gang, although Toulouse Lautrec wasn’t so bad either)/get together/meeting place/great place to hang out as literally everybody was there. Having collaborated with the team on 2 photoshoots for the 1st issue, I couldn’t have missed the event. Therefore, I’m showing you the make-up I wore on the occasion hoping it will help inspire you for any private or formal function you may attend.

Nothing out of the ordinary, just my favourite signature make-up – smokey eyes&nude lips inspired by this fabulous necklace created especially for me by the lovely Josephine – it’s called Amethyst de Chambord. The official website is www.josephine.ro while their Fb page is here.

Jewelry Inspired Make-Up Series: Truth or (Black) Dare

No, this is not a perfume reference, I’m sticking to my series of make-up looks inspired by pieces of jewelry. This time, I chose a set – a statement necklace and matching earrings and the collection they are part of is called Daring Collection. This reminded me of my childhood, when we used to play Truth or Dare, I always went for the Dare :) Therefore, it’s no mystery why I was drawn to this necklace, is it now?

If you look very closely, you will notice a slight difference in my eye make-up: using the same colours, I applied them in a different manner. Therefore, using the eye on your right side of the screen as an example, you can create a more subtle look while the eye on your left side of the screen is a bit more dramatic – the crease has been deepened and stretched to the inner corner. So, there you go, two different styles you can choose from.

Jewelry Inspired Make-Up Series: Antagonist Ring

Machiajul se poate lega de absolut orice si poate fi inspirat din absolut orice element – vestimentar, decorativ, un accesoriu sau un tablou. Pentru a ilustra ceea ce spun, va propun o mini-serie de machiaje inspirate din anumite piese de bijuterie de autor. Astazi voi incepe cu un inel – Antagonist Ring. Sper sa va placa :)

Make-up can be tied to absolutely anything and can drive inspiration from any element – whether it’s a piece of clothing, a decorating object, an accessory or a painting. In order to help you visualize what I’m saying, I suggest we have a mini-series of make-up looks inspired by certain pieces of designer-jewelry. Today, I shall launch this project with a ring – the Antagonist Ring. Hope you like it :)

Inspirata fiind de forma si de culorile inelului, am creat un machiaj ceva mai conic in zona ochilor folosind diferite nuante de maro, brun si gri pentru a ilustra metalul si am accentuat “duritatea” machiajului cu un strop de pigment auriu concentrat in coltul intern al ochiului pe care l-am “pierdut” spre exterior. Fiind o bijuterie ce exprima un caracter puternic, dar in acelasi timp nonconformist, am redat indrazneala cu ajutorul unui ruj unic prin culoarea piersicie-corai-roz intens – NYX Femme.

Inspired by the ring’s shape and colours, I’ve created an eye make-up that is somewhat more towards a cone-shape using various shades of brown and grey to represent the metal and a bit of golden pigment focusing on the inner corner. As this is a piece of jewelry that shows a strong character, while keeping its unusual spirit, I’ve used this unique shade of lipstick to emphasize all that – NYX Femme.

Fall 2012 Make-up Trends: Dark Lips aka ” I’m The Master Of My Own Disaster “

A trecut ceva timp de cand n-am mai facut un machiaj mai dark, mi-era tare dor :) Iar cum toamna a venit, oficial, iata cu ce culori m-am jucat astazi.

Un mod frapant de a purta ruj in culori inchise este sa-l alaturati unui semi-smokey eyes, ten luminos si blush mai deschis la culoare. Nu sariti peste blush pentru ca nuante atat de inchise cum sunt maro-urile si movul-pruna folosite in acest machiaj va vor face sa aratati extrem de palide. Am decis sa renunt la iluminator de data aceasta pentru a pastra tenul cat mai mat.

Pentru ca a fost ceva spontan, nu am pozat pasii intermediari, ci doar rezultatul final. Sper sa va placa si, de ce nu, sa incercati un astfel de machiaj la un moment dat! :)

 

It’s been a while since I made me up with dark colours and I really missed it. As autumn (or fall, as you may call it in the U.S.) is officially in season, here are some of the colours that inspired me today.

A striking manner of wearing dark-toned lipstick is to pair it with a somewhat smokey eye, luminous skin and light-toned blush. Don’t skip the blush when you go for colours as dark as these browns and plums that we’re using today as these can make you look really pale and ghostly. Another thing: I skipped highlighting the face as I was looking for a matte, velvet finish to the skin.

Being that this was a spur-of-the-moment thing, there is no tutorial, just the final product. Hope you enjoy it&maybe try it out sometime! :)

Before & After Make-Up Sessions

Din cand in cand, atunci cand programul imi permite, voi organiza astfel de make-up sessions. Daca sunteti interesate sa participati, nu trebuie decat sa urmariti pagina de Facebook Aca Buzea Make-up, link aici. De obicei dau un anunt in care specific ca am nevoie de model in zilele urmatoare asa ca e bine sa fiti atente.

Acestea sunt rezultatele primei sesiuni de makeovers si nu implica costuri din partea voastra. Am nevoie de acordul vostru pentru a publica atat pozele de before, cat si cele de after si asta e tot ce aveti de facut :) De restul ma ocup eu, de la make-up si locatie pana la imagini.

Pozele nu sunt prelucrate, nu se foloseste Photoshop sau alt program de editare. In felul acesta, vedeti exact realitatea.

Fall 2012 Make-Up Trends: The Nude Face

Tendinta care pare cel mai usor de urmat si de aplicat este si una dintre cele mai dificile pentru ca implica o ingrijire extraordinara a tenului pe termen lung. Machiajul nude este una dintre vedetele machiajului de multi ani de zile si se alatura faimoaselor si clasicelor smokey eyes, cat-eye liner si red lips. Cu toate astea, nu oricine poate purta cu succes un astfel de machiaj.

Aici se va pune intotdeauna mare accent pe ingrijirea si pregatirea tenului inainte de machiaj. Odata inceput machiajul, se lucreaza mai mult cu texturi cremoase decat pudrate asa ca un ten gras-uleios sau acneic nu va fi avantajat. Merge foarte bine pe un ten uscat sau normal si, cu putina atentie, si pe un ten mixt.

Hidratarea este foarte importanta, atat interna (minim 2,5l de apa pe zi) cat si externa (creme, tratamente, masti de fata) pentru a ajuta pielea sa arate cat mai bine. Tratamentele cosmetice si curatarea atenta a tenului sunt factori extrem de importanti in obtinerea unei pieli netede, cu aspect uniform.

In ceea ce priveste produsele cosmetice, optati pentru un fond de ten fluid cu o textura cat mai lejera, cu grad de acoperire mic sau, daca tenul si circumstantele va permit, chiar un tinted moisturizer. Folositi anti-cearcan strict acolo unde este nevoie si fixati cu putina pudra libera, nu folositi pudra compacta la acest tip de machiaj pentru ca stricati efectul final.

Blush-ul sau bronzer-ul trebuie sa fie pe baza de crema, se vor integra mult mai natural in restul machiajului. La fel si fardul de pleoape, alegeti unul cremos si intr-o nuanta cat mai naturala de maro sau bej pentru a da o umbra subtila pleoapelor.

Pentru buze, se va folosi un ruj sau un gloss intr-o nuanta naturala – un roz piersiciu mi se pare perfect pentru un astfel de machiaj.
